Alladale Wilderness Reserve
Alladale is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Our main retreat venue is here, amid 100 square kilometres of rugged mountains, dramatic glens, glistening rivers and dark lochs in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, just an hour and a half north of Inverness.

We stay in Deanich Lodge, a wonderful rustic bunkhouse deep in the heart of the Reserve that provides simple, elegant accommodation; a warm and comfortable retreat from the world. Deanich is one of the remotest houses on the UK mainland and a truly off-grid experience.
On your retreat you will be immersed in life’s simple pleasures; cozy beds, log fires, good coffee, freshly baked bread and delicious meals prepared by our in-house cook using local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible.

Alladale is just an hour and a half north of the City of Inverness. Inverness has excellent road, rail, national and international air connections. For a truly special way to start and end your retreat, try the newly refurbished, overnight Caledonian Sleeper train service from London to Inverness.
As only authorised vehicles are allowed on the reserve, you will need to leave your vehicle at Alladale Lodge close to the entrance to the wilderness reserve. We will arrange your journey to our accommodation at Deanich Lodge.
Detailed travel information will be provided after booking. For further information about all aspects of our retreats, please read our FAQs.
